What will I be doing?
You’ll take ownership of test activity within new product development projects – designing experiments, running lab-based investigations, and turning data into actionable insights. Acting as a technical lead in the lab, you’ll be hands-on with prototype systems, supporting development from concept through to market release.

You’ll take ownership of test activity within new product development projects – designing experiments, running lab-based investigations, and turning data into actionable insights. Acting as a technical lead in the lab, you’ll be hands-on with prototype systems, supporting development from concept through to market release.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver test programmes to validate new technologies
- Design and run experiments, then analyse and report results
- Operate and maintain print systems, ink delivery setups, and associated tools
- Lead problem-solving activities, identifying root causes and driving solutions
- Produce clear documentation including test reports, SOPs, and risk assessments
- Champion high lab standards through organisation, safety, and 5S practices
- Contribute ideas and initiatives to improve test capability and efficiency
- Degree-qualified in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related STEM subject
- 6+ years’ experience in a lab or engineering environment, ideally within R&D
- Strong problem-solver with a methodical approach to complex systems
- Practical, hands-on mindset with the ability to lead from the front in a lab setting
- Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with peers, managers, and customers
- Familiarity with engineering best practices such as FMEA/FTA is an advantage
