RF Product Design & Test Contract Outside IR35

Job description

A 3-month rolling contract, for a RF Product Design & Test Contractor with a Cambridge tech business who designs, manufactures & distributes communication devices within the UK.

You’ll be working in the Cambridge Development Centre where you’ll be involved in the full product development, from concept and prototype stages, through to production and support, and launch of the final product. If you enjoy working on projects at the critical point leading up to a product release, this contract could be something to sink your teeth into.

A number of their projects are nearing completion, and they are short on resource to get them finished, they need an experienced RF contract engineer to support a VHF Handheld and Mobile product development at prototype/validation stage, to validate the design, identify and fix any issues in performance and characterise whether the final design is fit for purpose and conformance to CE/CA/FCC standards. The engineer will work with the Design Authority to complete the outstanding tasks on this project and deliver a fit for purpose product to the conformance team for final testing and regional regulatory certification. You'll need strong RF skills, be able to work independently and have experience in radio architectures and air interface protocol.

Due to the nature of the work, in dealing with prototypes, bench work, and physical designs, the team are looking for someone who can be on-site regularly, so fully remote options are unfortunately unavailable in this instance, however they do offer hybrid working.
