Design Validation Engineer for a world renowned automotive/motorsport business in Cambridgeshire

Job description

Specialising in the design, manufacture and testing of high-performance engineering solutions for the automotive sector, this client is commutable from Cambridge and are filled with SoCode engineers! They really are one of our key clients and I couldn’t be more excited to help them find a number of new Design Validation Engineers at their Cambridgeshire office.

You will work with a growing team on testing and validating parts and systems that essentially… Make vehicles go faster, perform better and look sexier! They are not tied to automotive either and work across aerospace on more selective products but this role will predominantly focus on their core automotive products.

You’ll work with a close knit team to plan and execute tests (both in house and at test houses local to their office) helping to validate and verify the performance of their electronic products. This will include the usual… root cause analysis, test planning and executing the tests themselves.

Hand in hand with this will of course be management of the lab. We all love a tidy office space so you and the team will ensure it stays nice and tidy, and will help to order in new equipment when it suits. The labs at their office are next generation and stocked with all the latest test equipment.

This sounds like what I’m doing just with much more advanced products… What do I need to get the job?

So proven experience having worked on electronic systems testing, electrical testing (having worked to standard ISO 11452 and ISO 10605), proficient in bench test equipment like power supplies, oscilloscopes and digital multimeters. Familiarity with RF test plans and EMC, and importantly being able to work independently and not just be someone who has to ‘follow written instructions’ but can think for themselves!

The benefits on offer are also attractive where you can get a matched 6% pension, private medical healthcare (for you and the family), cycle to work scheme, 24/7 access to a GP and potentially a new annual bonus the business are looking to introduce.
