LabVIEW Test Systems Engineer

Job description

What’s in it for me?
Here’s a chance to take on a 6-month contract (inside IR35) at the heart of a global technology leader that’s shaping the future of fibre-optic connectivity. You’ll be developing next-generation automated test platforms that enable high-performance optical products to reach customers faster, with the quality and precision that make this company a world leader in its field. This is a role for someone who thrives on solving technical problems that matter — where your work directly impacts production output, engineering efficiency, and the performance of cutting-edge optical hardware. The day rate is £400–£475, and there’s a strong chance of extension beyond the initial term.

What will I be doing?
You’ll take the lead in developing and integrating LabVIEW-based applications for advanced Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems used in manufacturing and product validation. Working alongside in-house engineers and external suppliers, you’ll make sure complex test platforms are delivered on time, perform flawlessly, and are built to scale with production. You’ll analyse requirements, write and review technical documentation, maintain software repositories, and ensure best practices in coding and test automation are followed. This is a highly collaborative role, blending hands-on LabVIEW development with project oversight, supplier coordination, and mentorship of junior engineers.

Where will I be doing it?
You’ll be working onsite in Cambridge, surrounded by talented engineers pushing the boundaries of optical switching and fibre-network technology. This is a fast-moving, innovative environment where hardware, electronics, and software intersect to deliver real-world impact in data centres, telecoms, and advanced industrial systems. If you’re an experienced LabVIEW developer who enjoys building robust, production-ready test solutions in a collaborative engineering culture, this is an opportunity to make a tangible difference at the cutting edge of connectivity.
