SoCode have been retained to appoint a VP Engineering for our exclusive client - a fast growing ML Software Company based in Central Cambridge.  Our client has recently successfully completed a significant funding round and are excited to start the next phase of their growth plan.

The company is well established and the VP Engineering will be appointed to and form a very key stakeholder in an impressive SMT.  At present there is a team of 15-20 in Engineering, a selection of Data Scientists and Software Engineers / QA.  The technology you'll be working on is revolutionising a historic industry and allowing Joe Bloggs to significantly benefit from time and cost saving within an essential and critical service. 

We're looking for someone who is human enough to interact and inspire the Engineering team, but Commercial and Strategic enough to work at SMT level. An appreciation of ML/Ai/NLP  Software would be advantageous but not essential. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

- Management / Mentoring and Coaching of the Software & Data Teams

- Strong ambassador of an Agile Methodology & Mindset

- A strong appreciatiation for Product / Project Mangement 

- Growth of the Engineering team (10+ in 2021)

- Strategic Decision Making alongside the SMT
