Backend Software Engineer

Salary (Depending on experience): £40,000 – £120,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Location: Cambridge (Remote)

I’m currently working alongside an exciting fintech firm, who have recently received $100 million worth of funding and are growing exponentially across the business. Hiring across all levels they are seeking backend engineers to join the team.

You will be joining an elite team of engineers and will have significant input into the direction of their backend development, coding greenfield solutions on customer-facing and backend systems.

Main duties:

• Coding new features to the existing code.
• Refactoring and updating systems for improved technology use and efficiency.
• Expanding and architecting systems to work effectively across widely separated compute and storage clusters.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science / Math’s / Physics or similar from a leading University.
• Fluent in Java / Rust / Kotlin or C++.
• Good working knowledge of Spring, Kubernetes, distributed systems and algorithmics, SQL, microservices, Python and the git revision control system.
• Ideally you would have experience of working in development, however they will also consider graduate applications.
• Payment and financial systems experience would be helpful but is not essential.
