Due to internal promotions, SoCode are working with a very well respected team in Cambridge engineering to source a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, to create ruggedized electronic industrial products and consumer goods.

This is a senior role, and as such it will involve all aspects of the design process, from cradle to grave (technicians are on hand to help with prototyping and testing!).  The more experience you have of the full design process the better, but training can be provided if you have been more specialised in a particular aspect.

We are looking for someone who has good experience of mechanical design of electronic products. Hence, you will need a strong understanding of designing injection moulded products to fine tolerances (preferably including enclosures/seals or other fine tolerance work).  Other areas of the design for electronics can easily be trained.

Requirements for application:

• Experience of 3D CAD software
• Injection moulding

Beneficial skills:

• Experience designing electromechanical products
• PTC Creo experience (although any high complexity 3D CAD package is okay)
• Design of ruggedised equipment / safety critical equipment
