Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Job description

These guys are a global brand, with offices across the world. You’ll be working in a hi-tech facility in Cambridge, helping to design and manufacture high performing electrical products across an extensive product line. As a business, sales have remained consistent, even in the current climate, which has allowed these guys to further bolster their product line and seriously look at their recruitment requirements.

 

You’ll be joining their R&D team as the manufacturing expert, influencing design teams to ensure that standards remain where they should be. You’ll be given high autonomy to shape their processes for manufacturing and assembly and engage with engineering teams to ensure any issues are quickly resolved. You’ll also be dealing directly with, and managing stakeholders within the business, as well as setting up processes with manufacturing set ups internationally.  

 

You’ll be working with some incredibly knowledgeable staff, some of whom have patents within the company, and all of which encourage an excellent social atmosphere, with regular work and social incentives for their respective teams and colleagues. You’ll also be working in a hi-tech modern facility, with a host of benefits, and a salary of up to £53,000.

 

Technical Requirements:

 

Use good risk assessment techniques to allow production to be delivered on time and mass production to continue to forecast.

Minimum 7 years experience in Consumer electronics field and knowledge of industry suppliers and their capabilities.

Comfortable with MS Programs for project management, risk assessment, documentation and communication.

Degree in Production/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent with basic understanding in other fields like electronic design and PCB would be an advantage

Must have good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes such as injection moulding, sheet metal, PCB assembly, product test and packaging design

Must have a good understanding of Quality Standards required in mass Consumer product manufacturing (FMEA/PFMEA)

Experience in tolerance analysis and process capability study.

Knowledge of six sigma and PPAP process is an added advantage
