Project Manager – Hardware Product Delivery

Location: Cambridge (Mainly On-Site Based)
£65,000 - £70,000

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead end-to-end product delivery in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive Agile experience and a strong background in delivering hardware products, managing multi-disciplinary teams across mechanical, electronic, and process engineering, as well as product certification and manufacturing transfer.

You will need at least 5 years' experience in engineering project management, along with a formal project management qualification. Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute projects from concept to manufacturing release.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and cost, using KPIs to ensure successful delivery.
  • Track progress, analyse metrics, resolve issues, and proactively manage timelines.
  • Oversee project finances, including forecasting and cost reviews.
  • Facilitate cross-functional stakeholder collaboration, resolving challenges and dependencies.
  • Allocate and manage engineering resources in coordination with discipline leads.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities, maintaining accurate Estimate at Completion (EAC).
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance project efficiency.
  • Support the Programme Manager in applying and refining project management best practices.
  • Foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and accountability.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years' experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Proven track record in delivering high-reliability hardware products in fast-paced, customer-driven environments.
  • Strong background in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience with Scaled Agile frameworks.
  • Expertise in managing engineering teams through design, certification, and production transfer.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Atlassian Jira.
  • Financial management skills, including budgeting and cost forecasting.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, managing global technical and non-technical teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
  • Recognised Project Management and Agile certifications.
