You will be a part of a R&D, hi-tech facility in the south of Cambridge, helping to design and manufacture an ever growing and changing consumer electrical product line. Sales have remained consistent, even in the current climate, which has allowed these guys to reinvest into and diversify their product line and seriously looking into their recruitment requirements.  

 

You will be joining the R&D department, stepping into the new smart devices teams, to lead, manage and develop the multi-disciplinary electronics team. You’ll be working with the CTO to deliver key objectives with a particular focus on developing a strategy to deliver IMP in a sustainable manner. It’s not all management, as you’ll also offer technical leadership, guidance and work alongside the engineers to get hands on.

 

You will be working with some incredibly knowledgeable staff, some of whom have patents within the company, and all of which encourage an excellent social atmosphere, with regular work and social incentives for their respective teams and colleagues. You’ll also be working in a hi-tech modern facility, with a host of benefits, 10% bonus and salary of up to £75,000.

 

Technical Requirements:

A qualified Electronics Engineer or Physical Scientist with 8+ years of relevant technical experience, ideally for high-volume, consumer electronics or similar

Exposure to Embedded software: C and microcontrollers

Experience working with complex firmware and an awareness of good software practices are important requirements.

Exposure to Hardware for embedded systems: electronic simulation & design, PCB (review only), EMC, design for volume/test

Awareness of regulations, cost, and manufacturing/assembly techniques

Working knowledge of Hardware/firmware integration (including testing and debugging)

Beneficial to have experience of IoT/BLE.

Exposure to New Product Development and project management
