UI Mentor/Developer - TechStartUp

Job description

SoCode are proud to be working with an established, and fast-growing technology start-up. After a successful round of funding and a detailed roadmap for at least the next two years, the company are going through a period of growth. Having recently hired a technical lead, they are looking to build a team to deliver the next stage of their web application that will be in use by clients January 2020.

The company’s software helps pharmaceutical businesses save money by streamlining some of the longer, more drawn out processes that go into drug development especially surrounding quality control. With key backers big in the pharma space, the company has significantly derisked with great deal of explosive upside potential.

Based on the Cambridge Science Park, my client is offering brilliant working conditions in a state-of-the-art facility. Flexibility and autonomous working are very much the environment the client is looking to maintain. Creativity and an ability to think outside the box would also be ideal.

Although agile is used when possible, due to regulation waterfall becomes necessary around release date. Therefore, an ability to work in both environments would be useful.

Our client is working to a strict deadline/release date (aiming for year end), and would ideally like someone who is happy to train and develop and mentor junior talent as the company grows would be great!

Technical and Soft Skills:

  • Native JavaScript, HTML and CSS
  • Experience building complex and scalable web applications and APIs
  • Work closely with the rest of the dev team to plan, develop, test, and deploy a data-intensive web application
  • Any experience building React and Redux (or similar) web apps using UI Libraries, JQuery and CSS Frameworks would be fantastic.

Fundamentally, you will be responsible for the implementation of visual and function solutions for this company’s web application. Consistent delivery and creative problem solving are very important to ensure the success of this project.

Benefits:

  • Flexible working (getting the job done is more important than working long hours)
  • Working from home (2-3 days initially)
  • 25 days holiday
  • Stock options (EMI)
