SoCode Recruitment are pleased to be partnering with a ground-breaking biotechnology company based in Cambridge. The company a rapidly growing market leader, working on the cutting edge of DNA technology, and has successfully commercialised proprietary gene technology.
They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to help lead the mechanical team as they transition from R+D focussed operation to full production. You will be working alongside an incredibly talented, multi-disciplinary team of engineers as you translate the developed designs into commercially applicable products. This role will suit someone who is seeking a broad and varied role, with previous experience of taking a methodical, systems-engineering approach to development.
Some of the things you’ll be involved in (not limited to)…
As a Senior Design engineer, you will take ownership of projects to develop and detail the design of components, sub-systems & bespoke assembly jigs and fixtures for our first products. You will be working on your designs and assemblies through the complete development process; from concept and detail design to being hands-on in the lab building and testing.
Over the next two years you will move from one-off prototypes, through Beta prototypes for early market testing to low volume production.
You will ideally have the following skills and experience…
- Experienced 3D CAD user with Solidworks
- Proven ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Background of working within life sciences, ink-jet printing, medical devices or scientific instrument design
- Experience of working within a quality management system, for example ISO13485
- Experience and interest in mechanical and fluidic simulation and modelling
- Experience and interest in tolerance analysis including statistical methods
They can offer a base salary of £45-55k plus with incredibly flexible options in terms of working from home and working hours with a strong focus on L&D and progression.
