For example: synthetic insulin is produced using biotechnology and has revolutionized diabetes treatment, synthetic growth hormone helps treat growth disorders, and diagnostic tests to detect various diseases rely on biotechnology.

 

Environmental Sustainability: Biotechnology contributes to a greener planet by developing biofuels as an alternative to fossil fuels. And bioremediation which uses microorganisms to clean up pollutants. This also creates biodegradable plastics and sustainable materials.

 

As Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work for a leading Cambridge-based Consultancy who are on a mission to improve healthcare and working on innovative Biotechnology, working at the forefront of physical science, biology and engineering designing and manufacturing products in areas such as molecular detection, point of care diagnostics, DNA sequencing, cancer screening, and more.

 

You will have the change to design and develop a wide range of instruments and consumables that lead research and discovery, working on projects across all aspects of biotechnology. You will play a crucial part in concept development of detailed design, challenging your technical knowledge whilst working on various projects simultaneously.
