Senior Firmware Engineer- Cambridge- Permanent £45k-£65k
SoCode is continuing to work with one of the most exciting start-ups in Cambridge supporting them with the further growth of their embedded/firmware team. This particular client is a university spin out, producing IoT sensors for industrial manufacturing systems.
They are looking for an experienced Firmware Engineer to work in their Cambridge office leading design and development for their new energy harvesting products. You will work closely with two other members of the team using your knowledge of Bluetooth, Embedded C and device driver development to help push the product forward as it moves to market.
Key Duties
- Design and testing of embedded firmware systems
- Work with mechanical and electronics engineers to create products
- Design validation and testing
- Sensor algorithm development
Candidate profile
- Degree or equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Fluent in C/C++ in an embedded environment
- 5 years+ experience developing embedded firmware systems
- Understanding of electronics design
- Experience with Bluetooth LE
- Demonstrable understanding of BT protocol
- Prior experience with, e.g DFU
- Experience of developing battery powered products
- Experience in bringing low or medium volume products to market
- Experience with ARMtm architecture
- Proficiency in Microsoft Officetm tools
- Digital signal processing experience an advantage
- Self motivated
