Senior Data Engineer- Permanent- London- £60k-85k

My information analytics client based in London is looking to expand various teams across the business with multiple Senior Data Engineers. As a business, they are the global leader in scientific (technical and health) publishing and hold the soul goal of empowering knowledge for the greater good of humanity. 

They deploy a series of big data technologies and machine learning models to extract in depth and specific information from various publications to aid the research and development of solutions for some of the worlds most troubling and important issues. 

As a Senior Data Engineer you will be responsible for designing, updating and improving the clients catalogue as well as intergrating it with our clients various other business sections making it easier to use for their research customers. 

Successful candidates will have:

• In depth development experience on the JVM using Scala (ideally) and/or Java
• Experience with Spark (1.6 and 2) and the Hadoop ecosystem
• Experience with HBase
• Familiarity with AWS (EMR) and/or Cloudera
• Experience with agile engineering practices such as TDD, Pair Programming, Continuous Integration, automated testing, deployment etc
