Role: RF RX/Fgen Design Engineer

Contract Length: 6 Months

Location: Cambridge

This Cambridge based leading global supplier of critical radio communication systems, are adding to their RF Engineering team in Cambridge. With over 350 engineers in the Cambridge office, the open planned office is the perfect environment for a team player who thrives on collaboration with those around them. The company offers half days on Fridays, free parking and an on-site canteen, all of which are available to contractors as well as permanent employees.

The Role

The RF Design Engineer will be required to work on the development of professional mobile radio products in the electronics lab 4.5 days a week. The primary responsibility of this contract will be require work on the development and integration of the receiver and frequency generation sub-systems of a TETRA transceiver.

The required candidate will have 8 years+ of experience in the development of highly integrated products with experience in receiver and frequency generation design alongside high volume product development experience.

Essential Duties

-          Design and development of RF sections of a highly integrated TETRA transceiver.

-          Receiver design and optimisation, including discrete filters, LNA and active mixers

-          Frequency generation design & optimisation (this will include tuning/optimising discrete VCOs)

-          Product integration testing and debugging

-          Resolving design and integration issues

This role does not require security clearance, however sponsorship cannot be granted.

Skills Needed

-          RF Design

-          Discrete VCO optimisation

-          Frac-N synthesisers

-          Discrete filter design and optimisation

-          RX chain analysis

-          RF validation

-          Design for mass production

-          RF simulation tools (IE. ADS)

-          Testing and debugging of EMC

Bonus Skills

-          3G/4G design and validation

-          Design for EMC

-          TETRA
