Linux Network Systems Administrator - Salary £35,000 to £45,000 Dependant on experience

SoCode is partnered with a Cambridge based telecommunication company whose products and services are used by a variety of different industries and sectors worldwide that Is looking for a talented Linux Network Systems Administrator. The role requires a wide range of skills and experience, in order to ensure critical IT services, continue. This role will require you to have or be able to obtain UK Security Clearance.

Your Responsibilities will include but are not limited to

• Support, configuration and maintenance of Network (Linux/Unix server environment)
• Provide BAU/ break-fix support for solutions deployed
• Ensure requests logged via Service Desk are completed based on impact and priority
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues for UNIX infrastructure, WiFi, LAN and firewalls
• Proactively communicate status or plan of action in the resolution of issues
• Contribute towards or participate in root cause analysis activities
• Define service roadmaps and contribute to the IT enhancement

Essential Skills

• Experienced in technical administration roles of Hardware and Software
• Administration of Cisco IP Telephony
• Network design and implementation (LAN & WAN)
• Administration of Cisco or Cisco Nexus switch infrastructure
• Management for CheckPoint firewall technologies
• Wireless infrastructure (Aruba would be preferable)

Desirable Skills

• UNIX server administration (NIS, DHCP, DNS, Email, X Windows)
• Supporting NetApp storage (NAS/SAN)
• Experience of scripting/automation languages
• Backup solutions BackupExec/Veeam/NetVault
• Dell Server hardware and system management tools
• Experience of deploying and managing cloud services
• Two-factor authentication
• Proxy servers and web filtering
• Windows server administration
• Experience of VMware
