You will be a part of a R&D, hi-tech facility in the south of Cambridge, helping to design and manufacture an ever growing and changing consumer product line. Sales have remained consistent, even in the current climate, which has allowed these guys to reinvest into and diversify their product line and seriously looking into their recruitment requirements.  

 

The Role

This role is to be the technical lead for the design and development of leading-edge products, to lead mechanical, electrical and project engineers, ensuring the timely development and delivery of the project. As the Lead Engineer you will follow the project from concept, prototype, detail design, tooling, verification, validation and through to transfer to manufacture. You will be working alongside the science and technical teams in early creation of ‘concept’ ideas to help generate initial prototypes for evaluation and user testing.

Due to a surge in sales in 2020, the business has invested a lot of their profits back into the R&D team, resulting in massive investment into new product development to add to their product portfolio. You will lead the detail design, prototyping, production process identification, component specifications and discuss with component suppliers. You will also manage the design, verification and validation testing of the product to meet the PRS and Quality requirements.

This role will be a full-time permanent position offering £65,000 - £70,000 plus bonus and great benefits.

 

Key Skills Needed

• Strong skills and experience with mechanical CAD systems
• An understanding of transferring products into manufacture internationally
• Experience of designing components used in high temperature applications would be ideal
• Actively seeks to build and develop relationships both internally and externally.
