Head of Electronics

Job description

A genuine market leader in the field of critical communications, with a reputation of providing high quality products into demanding, mission critical customers, including leading police, ambulance, and fire users around the world. You will be coming into the business as the Head of Electronics, offering leadership to direct reports of up to 45 people, across multi-disciplinary teams. The mid to long term plan is to build the next generation of product portfolio for the business, whilst continuing to deliver on their world class leading products. You’ll work alongside the senior decision makers in the business, including product and project managers to agree deliverables and look at future user needs.

 

You’ll be someone who’ll love the opportunity to work for a business who cover full product realisation from early product inception, design, testing, manufacturing, production and ultimately when the right time is to move onto the next series of products. You’ll also be working within a industry leader who take real pride in their work to make sure products released have a user life of more than 10 years. You will be in a modern workspace, with an on-site cafeteria. Technical Requirements

Hardware Architecture and Development experience

Ability to manage cross functional teams

Be able to act as a well-practiced people manager

Proven track record of building and shaping teams

Experience of working in a commercially aware environment with a reasonable understanding of P&L’s

Excellent communication skills

Experience of hardware programme estimation
