Electronics Engineer - Audio

Job description

Socode are proud to support a long-standing client in their search for an Electronics Engineer to join their world-class audio engineering team. This is an opportunity to contribute to the development of premium wireless audio products in a highly collaborative and innovative environment.

What’s in it for me?

You’ll be joining a renowned and forward-thinking audio company, where technology and creativity go hand in hand. You’ll play a central role in designing hi-fi audio products, influencing their development from early concept stages through to global production. Expect a hands-on, varied engineering role with the opportunity to work on real-world audio challenges with international multi-disciplinary teams and trusted development partners.

What will I be doing?

As an Electronics Engineer, you’ll be responsible for developing high-performance electronic systems that power next-generation wireless audio products:
  • Electronics Design: Lead the design and testing of mixed-signal electronic circuits that underpin advanced audio functionality.
  • Platform Development: Support and enhance wireless audio module platforms to meet evolving product requirements.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical, transducer, and acoustic engineers to deliver integrated, high-performance products.
  • Review and Optimisation: Evaluate and improve designs developed by contractors and external partners.
  • Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve complex system-level issues using advanced test and measurement tools.
  • Full Lifecycle Involvement: Deliver projects that meet performance targets, cost constraints, and production timelines.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure product designs meet relevant safety, EMC, RF, and ESD standards.
  • Innovation and Research: Explore new technologies and integrate them into future product roadmaps.
  • Global Collaboration: Partner with overseas teams and suppliers, with occasional travel to support key development and production activities.
What do I need to be successful?
  • A solid academic background in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or a related discipline)
  • Hands-on experience designing mixed-signal circuits, particularly for audio or digital systems requiring high-speed performance
  • Confident in balancing cost vs. performance when choosing electronic components
  • Experienced in PCB design and layout (including multi-layer boards), with the ability to work at a detailed level using schematic capture tools
  • Familiar with diagnosing and resolving issues related to electromagnetic compatibility and other compliance standards
  • A confident communicator who works well with multidisciplinary teams and external development partners
  • Proactive, highly organised, and comfortable taking ownership of projects from concept to production
