Liam Cook
Recruitment Consultant
Liam started his journey at SoCode in Summer 2025 as a Recruitment Consultant, focusing on Project Managers and Business Analysts in Software.
"I enjoy working in this space because PMs and BAs play such a key role in delivering great software. I get to work with people who are organised, siwtched-on, and genuinely make a difference to teams. It's rewarding matching them with roles where they can have real impact."
What led you to SoCode?
"Ten years ago, I swapped the buzz of London for the calm of a small village in Cambridgeshire and I’ve never looked back. With a background spanning sales, customer service, and business account management, one thing has always stayed the same: putting people first. I’m passionate about making sure every client and candidate has a great experience, and I bring that same mindset to my work in recruitment at SoCode. It’s all about building genuine relationships and finding the right fit, not just ticking boxes."
What inspires you?
"Losing my mum when she was only 52 inspires me to not waste a moment in life and go after what brings you happiness."
What did you want to be when you grew up?
"When I was a child I wanted to be either a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, a footballer or a fireman. Every birthday included something to do with one of these, I was obsessed."
Where will we find you outside of work?
"Outside of work, you’ll most likely find me out and about with our puppy Mack, whether that’s a local walk or exploring dog-friendly National Trust spots. My wife and I enjoy visiting friends and family when we can, and we’re always up for a good garden centre trip (usually with a coffee stop involved). I also enjoy a bit of downtime gaming on my Xbox when things are quieter, and really want to get back into playing football."
Fun fact:
"When I was younger, I played football for a team managed by Mr Woo (Woo Hee-Young) people of a certain age, may remember the Pepsi and Nike stickman TV adverts with him in, doing freestyle football tricks (he had bright blonde hair)."
