Job title: Test Engineer

Location: Cambridge

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £26,000 - £40,000 DOE

Start Date: ASAP

We are looking to speak with Test Engineers on behalf of a revolutionary technology company that develop chips and software in Cambridge. Partnering with some of the most prestigious companies in the world, this is an excellent opportunity for a Test Engineer to really advance their career and learn new skills. You will be working in a cross-functional team, working alongside developers.

Your daily tasks will include and are not limited to…

  • Assisting the design, test and where appropriate development of software working in an agile team using industry best practices
  • Contributing to high quality testing methodology (including ISO 9001 processes) by knowledge sharing and best practice
  • Contributing to the development of test plans
  • Using methodical engineering approaches to the analysis and diagnosis of technical issues or defects
  • Following agreed architectural test principles by developing a solid understanding of subsystem architecture
  • Mastering a new small technical area where there is some prior expertise within the company
  • Providing testing solutions to defined problems, supporting the delivery of solid and robust components implemented
  • Working well in a team and actively contributing to meetings
  • Mentoring junior experienced members of the team, sharing knowledge and expertise
  • Managing time and tasks under guidance, seeking help early if deadlines will not be met
  • Documenting technical information aimed at wider engineering team as required/ providing team demos
  • Communicating clearly with established technical contacts and existing partners to resolve technical issues, being aware of what can/cannot be communicated to external contacts
  • Developing an understanding of Company Strategy, by attending all departmental meetings and asking questions
  • Occasionally traveling for work as requested, with appropriate support

The ideal candidate will…

  • Have strong scripting skills (Python advantageous)
  • Have embedded experience (advantageous)
  • Be an excellent communicator
  • Be an analytical thinker
  • Have ISTQB certification (advantageous)
