Technical Writer / Proposals Specialist
Outside IR35 Contract
Start date 5th January

Currrent DV Clearance is essential for this role.

We are supporting our client in the defence sector who is on the look out for a a Technical Writer to support the business via a short-term contract. This will be on-site (4 or 5 days, to your preference) in West Cambridgeshire.

This is an urgent hire, and you will play a pivotal role in company success during your time there. If successful, there is the potential for repeat work in the future.

Key requirements:

• Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and frameworks such as ITIL.
• Ability to create clear, persuasive, and technically accurate responses to an ITN.
• Collaborate with technical SMEs, service architects, and delivery teams to translate complex technical concepts into client-friendly language.
• Ensure proposals align with client requirements, organisational capabilities, and industry best practices.
• Participate in bid reviews and contribute to win strategies.
• Ensure all proposals meet governance standards and contractual requirements.
• Incorporate ITIL and ITSM best practices into service descriptions and operating models.

Experience & Skills:

• Proven experience as a Bid Writer or Proposal Specialist within IT Managed Services or similar technical environment.
• Strong knowledge of ITSM frameworks and ITIL principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
• Familiarity with managed service models, SLAs, and service delivery processes.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and bid management tools.
