Job Description

SoCode are working with a market leading provider of hand-held electronic communication devices to source a Senior Electronics Hardware Engineer for a small but close knit and highly talented team of engineers in Cambridge. These devices are used in industries as varied as marine, oil and gas, government agencies, mining, pharmaceuticals and many more.

Due to continued growth and success, a new team has been created in Cambridge to develop greenfield product ranges using the latest technology. This is a small but highly skilled team, which you would join as the Senior Hardware Engineer, working alongside RF Design, Embedded Software Engineers, Project Engineering etc.

As the Senior Electronic Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for the full product development life-cycle, from requirement capture, to hardware design, through to packaging, prototyping and testing. Some travel will be involved in the latter stages of the development life-cycle, to ensure advanced prototype testing, and even manufacture is in line with your expectations.

We are more than happy to consider people from all experience levels, but you will be a very talented Electronic Hardware Engineer, with good experience of analogue design (or mixed signal).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Industrial experience in Analogue Electronics Design (or mixed signal)


  • Designing for audio application
  • Electronic design for battery powered devices
  • Some experience with communications (RF design is NOT necessary)
  • Full product development life-cycle
  • EMC
  • Intrinsically Safe codes and standards (ATEX, IECEx or other)
