Senior RF Engineer

Job description

Senior RF Electronics Engineer – Cutting-Edge Technology Projects | Cambridge Area

Are you ready to take on complex engineering challenges — from advanced robotics and autonomous systems to next-generation radar and communications technology?

We’re partnered with a world-class technology product developer based near Cambridge, developing RF and electronic systems that power innovation across aerospace, defence, communications and IoT.

This is a unique opportunity to join a team of expert engineers working on mission-critical systems — from airborne and space-based radar to secure communications networks and intelligent sensors. Every project is different, and you’ll have the freedom to turn ideas into working prototypes and real-world products.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior RF Electronics Engineer to design, build, and test new RF-based systems and products.
You’ll play a hands-on role in technical design while collaborating closely with colleagues and customers to deliver innovative, reliable solutions.

You’ll have access to a state-of-the-art lab with the latest RF, microwave, and test equipment — including spectrum/network analysers and anechoic chambers — and be part of a multidisciplinary team that values curiosity, precision, and creative problem-solving.

Key Skills & Experience
  • Degree (MEng or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering or similar.
  • 6+ years’ experience designing RF-based circuits (for radios, radar, or related systems).
  • Proven ability to take designs from concept to verification.
  • Strong knowledge of RF, microwave, and analogue circuit design — amplifiers, filters, frequency synthesisers, etc.
  • Experience with RF simulation tools and hands-on testing.
Desirable (not essential):
  • Knowledge of radio and radar systems.
  • Experience in mmWave design or digital circuit integration.
  • Team leadership or mentoring experience.
Why Join
  • Competitive salary & benefits package
  • Support for professional development and chartership
  • Opportunity to work across multiple high-impact sectors
  • Flexible working and a collaborative, supportive culture
  • Modern facilities and world-class engineering tools
If you’re an RF Engineer who thrives on technical variety, problem-solving, and real innovation — this is your chance to be part of something exceptional.
