Senior Network and System Administrator

SoCode is partnered with a well-established and exciting communication hardware manufacturer in Cambridge that is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable network design/technical administrator in their infrastructure support team. The candidate they are looking for will refine existing solutions and contribute technology road maps and system enhancement, whilst also strengthening current IT practices and working as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Trouble shoot IT service issues and then resolve related to UNIX infrastructure, WiFi, LAN, Firewalls etc
• Ensure requests logged by service desk are completed based on priority and impact
• Contribute to IT enhancement backlog and root cause analysis activities
• Proactively communicate status and resolution of issues
• Continuous reports of heath of IT services

Essential Experience

• Network design of LAN and WAN
• Senior technical administration roles covering hardware and software
• Administration of Cisco Nexus switch infrastructure and Management of CheckPoint firewalls  

• Wireless infrastructure preferably Aruba
• Experience with Scripting or automated languages (Powershell/Bash)
• UNIX server administration
• NetApp storage support (NAS/SAN)

Desirable Experience

• ITIL qualification or equivalent
• Back solutions Backupexec/NetVault
• Dell server hardware management tools
• Cyber essentials or ISO27001
• Practical experience of VMware/Window server administration
• Administration of CISCO IP Telephony   

Salary – £45,000 to £55,000 dependant on experience
