The Role

The company is looking for a well rounded Senior ­Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Cambridge with an aim of progressing quickly to Lead Engineer. The ideal engineer will be a team player first and foremost, with the ability to take responsibility for the mechanical design elements of a wide range of projects and products both new and existing which range from low volume specialist equipment, through to complex consumer products designed for low cost, high volume manufacture.

There is an expectation that you will be able to explain complicated technical products to non-technical clients. This is the perfect chance to utilise your technical skills in an environment where teamwork is paramount to success.

What Can You Expect?

You will liaise with other disciplines and working in project teams, provide input into project proposals, create design schemes and concepts. While continuing to contribute to hands-on development, including building prototypes and pre-certification testing of elements such as ingress protection sealing, thermal management and/or mechanical integrity. A massive part of consulting is being credible Infront of a client and you will be the technical lead at design reviews, provide technical support in client facing meetings

What can make me stand out?

Knowledge of RF, Analogue & Digital layout considerations for mechanical design will make you stand out above the rest !! As well as an understanding of FEA simulation techniques and experience of working directly with UK and Overseas sub-contract manufacturers
