Senior Firmware Engineer | Consumer Electronics 

Location: Cambridge Based – Hybrid working

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience)

SoCode Recruitment has teamed with a globally recognised household name in search of a highly skilled Embedded/Firmware Engineer.

The successful candidate will become part of a multidisciplinary team within a fast-paced environment helping to design, prototyping, production and overall seeing the full lifecycle of one of the most dominant names in its industry.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • To work alongside the head of electronics to collaborate and deliver into this fast-paced product market
  • Maintain, document, and expand on existing systems (C Language)
  • Produce new firmware platforms (C / C++)
  • Ability to collaborate with a broad range of people, including Product Owners, Testers, Training and Product Support.
  • Knowledgeable in the development on bare metal, RTOS, embedded microcontrollers or Linux systems
  • Investigate and solve complex functional issues
  • Candidates must be prepared to travel occasionally to US, China and throughout the EU.

Key Skills you will need:

  • A track record of developing software in Embedded C to a high standard
  • Demonstratable understanding of microcontrollers and other embedded software development

Desirable:

  • Strong skills with firmware IDEs/tools (Eclipse, Git, etc.). Previous experience with Cortex-M0 and Cortex-M4 would be highly beneficial
  • Ability to influence and adaptable to change
