£70,000 - £95,000 salary DOE + benefits
Our client are developing cutting edge hybrid control and inverter systems that power everything from high performance motorsport platforms to next gen passenger EVs, and we're looking for a Principal Systems Engineer to lead the charge!
This is a chance to work on technically complex, high impact systems at the edge of what’s possible in electric propulsion. You'll be part of a growing engineering function where your decisions shape architecture, performance, and future direction.

In this role, you’ll:
- Lead the full systems V-cycle: concept through to production
- Own architecture, requirements (DOORS, Polarion), and functional safety (ISO26262)
- Drive model-based development in MATLAB/Simulink
- Mentor and guide a small talented team and be part of recruiting and growing it
- Collaborate closely with controls, software, and hardware teams
- You’ll be at the heart of innovative hybrid vehicle technology
- The projects span motorsport-level performance and real-world application
- You’ll tackle challenging system integration problems, not just specs on paper
- You'll shape the future of a team and play a key role in scaling it
- Strong systems engineering and requirements management experience
- Model-based control expertise for complex electro-mechanical systems
- A hands-on, mentoring leadership style
- Knowledge of inverter systems and hybrid vehicle applications
- Familiarity with SysML, DVP, and embedded software environments
