Mechanical Engineer Consultant

Job description

Mechanical Engineer Consultant
South Cambridgeshire
£50,000 - £70,000

Are you a passionate Mechanical Engineer looking to make a difference?

Carbon capture can achieve up to 15% of the global greenhouse gas emissions reduction needed by 2050 and is viewed as one of the only practical ways to achieve deep decarbonisation in the industrial sector.

Unlike fossil fuels, when hydrogen is burned, it generates only water as a by-product, meaning no harmful greenhouse gas emissions. For this reason, green hydrogen is an attractive fuel for the future.

Using renewable energy and a new method for making ammonia, researchers and entrepreneurs believe “green” ammonia can become a significant clean fuel source for generating electricity and powering ships.

Climate change is one of the most important topics nowadays and will affect the entire world for centuries to come. This technology consultancy is working on projects in all of these areas, plus many more (material deposition, developing novel technologies and industrial systems, and process design). Now as a Mechanical Engineer, you can work across them all!

If you’re passionate about sustainability and making the world a better place, then this is the role for you!

As Mechanical Engineer Consultant, you will get to work on a wide range of engineering challenges, using your first-principles engineering knowledge to identify and develop solutions to real-world problems. This involves a mix of creative ideas-generation, analysis, modelling, design and problem solving, as well as hands-on experimental work, taking your ideas from the lab to pilot scale testing.

You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively across your team on a wide range of exciting projects, whether you like working on a multitude of shorter projects or one project across a long period of time – you will have the chance to be involved from all aspects.

Not only will you be getting the chance to work on groundbreaking technology, but this business is also offering some amazing benefits, such as private medical insurance for you and your loved ones, annual bonus, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, learning and development opportunities, hybrid working, a competitive salary of £50,000 - £70,000, and many more!

If you’re interested in working for an established consultancy, in top of the range facilities with the opportunity for personal AND professional growth – we should chat!
