Mechanical Engineer | Security Printing | £45,000 - £50,000 | Cambridge 

We are currently working with the dominant experts in industrial inkjet design and technology - the leading supplier of inkjet printing modules - specialising in monochrome, spot colour, and security inks. They understand different applications and know how to get the required results with inkjet printing by working with extremely closely with customers, tailoring the products to provide complete solutions for the successful implementation of inkjet technology into a production environment.

The Role

As a mechanical engineer you will design and develop new products from concept through testing to finished product, considering function, cost, compliance to the relevant standards and end of life requirements. You will be the senior engineer to help produce 3D models and manufacturing drawings using Solidworks to then eventually build and test prototype products. The factory is onsite so you will work closely with production regarding design for manufacture, providing support and relevant engineering documentation.

Skills Needed:

  • Experience not just improving current products, but creating new ones from scratch
  • Experience with industrial machines or ideally printers
  • Ideally experience in fluid dynamics – preferably related to inkjet but not essential.
  • Experience in product / component design
  • Experience using Solidworks

This position is based in north Cambridgeshire, offering £45-50,000 with flexible remote options available.
