Mechanical Design Engineer – 3 Month Fixed Term Contract

Are you interested in gaining some niche and valuable Optics industry experience?

 

During your role as Mechanical Design Engineer, you will get to support the production and inspection of current connectivity and optical legacy products within the business, whilst also having the opportunity to contribute your ideas towards a new and exciting project.

 

Within this role, you will be working on an exceptional product whilst gaining invaluable knowledge and experience. From being hands on with the full design cycle and having direct contact with clients, to being involved with the R&D team in the lab and building products, this role is varied.

 

There is a wide variety of interesting engineering challenges, such as working on micro-precision manufacturing methods, as well as injection moulding, sheet metal and traditional CNC, whilst also designing jigs and fixtures and creating test plans, including testing prototypes.

 

What do we need?

-          Confident in SolidWorks

-          Experience with sheet metal and injection moulding

-          Ideally optomechanical knowledge
