IT Security officer – lead  | 35-42K | on site Cambridge

Due to growth of the IT dept, they are on the hunt for an IT Security officer to lead all security projects within the business, you will play a critical role in identifying potential security threats, implementing security measures, and responding to security incidents in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibility

• Develop and implement IT security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses in our systems.
• Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to security incidents as needed.
• Install, configure, and maintain security software and hardware, including firewalls, antivirus programs, and intrusion detection systems.
• Provide training and support to staff on IT security best practices.
• Run phishing campaigns

Qualifications/Experience:

• At least 3 years of experience in IT security management or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
• Experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection software.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
• ISO27001
• Knowledge of Darktrace, solar winds & splunk
