Head of Engineering - Cambridgeshire (remote first company) - £90,000 to £100,000 per annum plus bonus and benefits

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Set the technical vision and lead all engineering initiatives across the company.
- Ensure technologies are used efficiently, profitably and securely.
- Manage a team of developers and engineers to maintain and enhance the SaaS platform.
- Oversee software architecture to ensure scalability, security, reliability and performance
Main Tasks:
- Ensure the platform meets required security & accessibility standards and communicate this with clients.
- Manage an in-house team and external dev ops engineers to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure that technical documentation is regularly updated and accessible.
Product
- Collaborate with product team to imagine how to build and implement new features
- Ensuring that product architecture supports the priorities of the business.
- Manage technical specifications for new feature development.
- Deliver new features to a timetable agreed with the management team.
- Ensure that custom client work is delivered on time and on budget.
Operational
- Implement technological resources to meet the company's short and long-term needs.
- Work with the management team to develop, track and control the development of annual budgets for purchasing, staffing and operations related to technology.
- Proactively, manage key suppliers of technical solutions.
Technology Leadership
- Make executive decisions regarding technological requirements.
- Ensure all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.
- Lead a team of developers responsible for platform maintenance and product build.
- Recruit and hire top technical talent to build best-in class engineering team.
- Spearhead adoption of new technologies to advance our platform and stay competitive
- Support client success and sales initiatives by communicating the company’s technology strategy.
