Graduate Product Definition Engineer

Job description

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for technology and a curiosity for how complex systems come together?

This is a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your career within a world-leading communications company developing advanced radio and connectivity products used across critical industries worldwide.

You’ll be joining the Product Definition team, working at the heart of product development - where ideas turn into real-world solutions. Through hands-on training and mentorship, you’ll learn how to define the behaviour of sophisticated embedded software products, helping shape the next generation of communication technology.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Translating product requirements into clear, detailed feature definitions
  • Writing technical documentation that guides engineers, testers, and product teams
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, and product managers
  • Becoming a subject-matter expert on product functionality and supporting future product owners
  • Gaining exposure to technologies like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and LTE
No two days are the same. One day you might be clarifying a new product feature with engineers, and the next, working with customer teams to understand how products are used in the field.

What We’re Looking For
  • A degree in a relevant field (e.g. Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or similar)
  • A strong interest in embedded systems or digital communications
  • Curiosity about technologies like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and USB
  • Great communication and analytical skills — you’ll love understanding how things work and explaining them clearly
Experience with Android or mobile connectivity technologies would be a bonus, but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are what really matter.

Why You’ll Love It
  • Structured on-the-job training and mentoring from industry experts
  • Real responsibility from day one
  • A clear development path towards Product Owner or other technical leadership roles
  • Work that makes a real-world impact across emergency services, transport, and defence sectors
If you’re a problem-solver with a keen eye for detail and a passion for technology, this is your chance to shape the future of communication systems.

This role requires eligibility for SC Clearance.
