Position: Electronics Project Manager – Hardware/Electronics/Technical/Design/Authority

SoCode have an exciting opportunity for an Electronics Project manager/ Design Authority to become part of a world leading company in Cambridge whose focus is to continuously push the boundaries of technology. You will be part of a thrilling Design Authority Team to join this exciting company as they push to create new products.

Electronics Project Manager – Hardware/Electronics/Technical/Design/Authority Responsibilities:     

  • Assessing product requirements
  • creating technical specifications and defining product architectures
  • Execution of standard design processes: Definition, Design, Implementation, Verification and Release to Manufacture
  • Interfacing to Project and Product Management
  • Risk and issue management
  • Presentation of product design status during Project Phase
  • Defining and coordinating verification testing
  • Championing and improving upon development processes
  • Working with third-party suppliers to develop custom components and solutions
  • Manufacturing requirements and test specification authoring
  • Hardware technical assistance to the customer support and sustaining manufacturing teams
  • Maintaining awareness of the competitive marketplace to ensure our product designs remain ahead of the competition

Electronics Project Manager – Hardware/Electronics/Technical/Design/Authority Requirements for Applicants:

  • A broad experience of electronics engineering, covering a number of areas such as:
  • Analogue electronics design
  • Power supply design
  • Digital electronics design
  • Audio product development
  • Embedded software development
  • Design for Safety, EMC and ESD conformance
  • A strong understanding of RF communication system principals
  • Self-starter with ability to demonstrate technical leadership within a product development environment
  • Experience of specifying technical requirements
  • Taking a lead role in delivering against these requirements

Beneficial experience:

  • Discrete RF electronics design experience
  • Experience working with current wideband technologies (Bluetooth, WiFi, LTE)
  • Intrinsically safe product design (e.g. ATEX)
  • Mechanical design experience
  • Software development experience
  • Design for medium volume product manufacture
