Job title: Contract Python Automation Engineer
Location: Cambridge
Job Type: Contract – Outside of IR35
Rate: £45 - £55 per hour (depending on experience)
Duration: 6 Months

SoCode Recruitment are seeking a Contract Automation Test Engineer to work with a highly successful Cambridge based company that are developing technology that enables reliable connection on the move.
You will be involved in the following:
- Delivering adaptable software interfaces, automating the lab equipment, tools and devices
- Upgrading the test software interface and test framework to a more robust platform
- Participate in technical discussions and code reviews
- Generating technical documents, user guides and manuals
- Maintain an awareness of industry standards and technical development
- Implementing modular library codes in Python with error handling and exceptions
- Owning the project and collaborating with peers
You will have the following necessary experience/skills:
- A result driven approach and strong attention to detail
- Experience of understanding lab equipment and developing APIs
- Strong understanding of Python, Visual Basic, and Windows GUI apps
- Delivering automation frameworks using Python, working to tight timescales
- Interpreting written requirements and technical specification documents
- Able to work with engineering teams across various disciplines
- Great organisation and planning skills
- Excellent communication, verbal and written skills
It would also be a benefit if you have experience of hardware, revision control tools and an understanding of SPI, I2C and RS232 Protocols
