Business Development Lead – Defence Markets
Hybrid | Cambridgeshire
£75,000 – £85,000 + benefits

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Lead to play a key role in identifying, shaping and securing new commercial opportunities within the UK Defence sector, including the Ministry of Defence and its supply chain. Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities within Defence markets
- Lead the development of proposals, bids and tenders, taking opportunities through to close
- Build and manage senior client relationships, supporting delivery teams during project execution
- Work closely with internal technical teams to translate customer needs into compelling solutions
- Identify and engage potential partners to support collaborative bids
- Generate leads through industry networking, events, trade shows, existing contacts and targeted outreach
- Demonstrable success selling into Defence and/or MOD environments
- Strong understanding of structured sales and bid processes
- Experience in account management and long-term client development
- Engineering or science degree essential, with the ability to engage confidently in technical discussions
- Commercially astute, credible with senior stakeholders, and comfortable operating in complex sales cycles
