Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 DOE

SoCode Recruitment are delighted to be working with a technology company who develop software to help tackle and prevent fraud. They are looking for a bright, driven, and enthusiastic Automation Test Engineer to join their growing team. Their head office is based in Cambridge, but they also have an office in London.

You will be working in a relatively small team, liaising with developers, QA Engineers and Product Managers to understand requirements and subsequently deliver sufficient test coverage. You will be responsible for writing automated API and UI tests and will have a can-do attitude to tackle any feature, understanding it and developing tests for it. Your primary focus will be testing, but you will need to be comfortable with Java, or similar OOP languages.

Your daily tasks will include…

  • Developing automation test cases using Java
  • Breaking down and writing test cases to ensure complete coverage
  • Responsibility for quality during the product life cycle
  • Reporting and managing defects

The ideal candidate will have…

  • Working experience with testing tools such as TestNG, Junit, Nunit
  • Strong practical experience with developing automation tests (both API and UI) using OOP such as Java and C# (experience with BDD alone isn't sufficient)
  • Working knowledge of agile software development
  • Working knowledge of defect management tools (YouTrack, Jira, ALM) and familiarity with Continuous Integrations (CI) tools (TeamCity, Jenkins etc.)
  • A relevant Bachelors degree (computer science, software engineering, computer engineering)
  • Working knowledge of Linux
  • Knowledge of non-functional testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)
  • Enjoy working in a team of like-minded and intelligent people to solve complex problems
