SoCode's client, a market leading communications device company, are looking for an Android Firmware Developer with experience of low level software engineering / software development.

Your primarily role will be low level / Linux Kernel type work, customising operating systems, such as reducing power consumption, improving boot times etc.

You will be working alongside a very highly skilled hardware engineer on the creation of a brand new communications product. Our client does not have a lot of internal exprerience in Android, and as such we need someone who can hit the ground running from day 1, and be the subject matter expert. As such you will also have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well with other members of the team, and experience of delivering products on time.

Essential Skills

• Android 5.1.x.
• Low level Android development
• Demonstrable experience in customising Android OS (such as improving boot times, reducing power consumption and stripping out non-essential components
