John started his journey at SoCode in November 2023.

As the head of the Java and AR/VR/XR desk, John is dedicated to connecting businesses with exceptional engineering talent across the UK market. From senior-level appointments, to entry-level roles, John matches top-tier candidates with opportunities that foster growth and innovation.

"I enjoy working with software engineers to explore the possibilities that technology can offer. With Java, industries range from streaming to large enterprises and many in between. The rapid pace of development changes means that the Java market is ever-expanding due to its reliability and scalability.

With my recent work within the XR/AR/VR desk is fascinating, as the applications and future potential of this technology are limitless. The usage within the metaverse is particularly intriguing and is a significant growth area.

From my previous experience working in a tech start-up, I became interested in the directions that careers take. I joined SoCode to help others in their career journey, seeing them progress from engineers to CTOs."

What inspires you?

"My Family!" 

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

"A Doctor, but I hate blood and needles and was never great at listening at school, so was never going to work out." 

What advice would you give someone looking to get into recruitment?

"Build relationships don’t just fill roles."
