Dan began his SoCode journey in March 2019.
"As Operations director my recruitment role has taken a slight back seat these days, however my main market focus was Software Development, specifically focused on .NET and C# - I thoroughly enjoyed working with the best and brightest talent Cambridge has to offer and have built relationships I hold very dear. My current role is to elevate the infrastructure of the business to the same level as our sales and ensure we are well positioned to deliver our company wide objectives. We’ve grown and changed a lot during my time here and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us all."
What do you love most about working at SoCode?
"I really enjoy being surrounded by like minded people all pulling in the same direction – as most people will know, recruitment can be a bit of a rollercoaster where the highs can be incredibly high and the lows equally low. Having the support and backing of your peers to pick you up when you’ve had a tough day and drive you to keep getting better when things are going well is something I think is very important. The culture and sense of team spirit we’ve built here is one of the things I’m most proud of."
What advice would you give someone looking to get into recruitment?
"Don’t overcomplicate things – recruitment is simple if you follow a process and do the basics well. Listen and pay attention to the conversations you’re having and you’ll get all the answers you will ever need. We have 2 ears and 1 mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak."
What did you want to be when you grew up?
"Professional footballer by day, Power Ranger by night… a boy can dream"
Where would we find you outside of work?
"As a teenager I was a reasonably handy golfer, but these days you’ll likely find me riding (and falling off!) my bike! I’m also aiming to complete an Ironman triathlon in Vichy, France."
