Permanent - £80,000-£95,000 + Bonus + Extensive Benefits

Flexible Hybrid Working Model – Cambridge/London

At SoCode, we are looking for an experienced individual with a background in software engineering, either at Architect level, or someone with experience in SME’s with exposure to this side of the business looking for the next steps in their career. Our client is a well-established business in arguably fintech’s most exciting investment space, the physical and online payment platform. The business is heavily scaling with an impressive growth trajectory, looking year-round for exciting talent to join the team.

As a Solutions Architect, you would be responsible for defining the future architectures for all platform projects throughout the business, reporting directly to the Head of Architecture. Being an Architect within an SME, you’ll get the opportunity to see your designs through from design to deployment working with numerous stakeholders throughout the business to tailor the solutions to the problem taking full ownership of the project. This position can be a step up for principals or team leads who want to advance their career.

Day to day:

-          Architecting payment platforms from both an infrastructure and software perspective.

-          Researching architectures and third party software solutions

-          Working alongside development teams in designing and governing solutions. Also, working with the infrastructure and IT Security teams allowing for a vast exposure to the whole business.

-          Defining Cloud architectures for both new and existing platforms

-          Becoming a key member of the team working closely with other teams and architects

What we are looking for:

-          8 years + Software engineering experience in Java and/or C#

-          Demonstration of work experience across different development languages

-          Demonstrate a history, or clear understanding of architecture and software

-          Great communication skills, being able to work closely with IT and Non-IT business stakeholders

-          Database design understanding in relational and non-relational databases

-          Experience in cloud technologies and how software runs on the infrastructure

-          Able to demonstrate pragmatism in architectural solutions. Whilst analysing software solutions
