This is a business who create all necessary components, from application software, through to electronics, to assist their international customer base within the industrial print industry, to create their own machines. They work with household names across the globe, venturing even into 3D printing. Throughout the company’s long stint, they have continued to invest in R&D, each year putting large amounts of the company turnover, back into the business, including recent years.
As the engineering team continues to grow, and as an exercise in forward planning, the Head of Engineering is looking for someone who can either immediately step into the role of an FPGA Engineering Lead or shows the potential to do so in the not-too-distant future. Career progression is a term most businesses will throw around, but here, there’s genuine potential to step into the role of the Head of Engineering as the company looks at their succession planning, or alternatively, if you would like to stay hands on, move towards technical leadership.
You will have access to genuine flexible working, ability to work from home, a yearly bonus, and a salary of up to £70,000, which can be pushed further for those ready to step into a team lead role.
As always, it’s important to review the technical requirements, and make sure you can actually do the job:
Documentation skills for specifying requirements, architecture, implementation, and verification plans
Development using VHDL (preferably) or Verilog
Efficient logic design targeted for FPGAs
Synthesising, design constraining and timing closure using Intel Quartus Prime and/or Xilinx Vivado Design Suite
A knowledge of embedded C/C++ programming
Use of version control software
