When thinking of a new company to work for, it’s likely you look for someone who is working on new technology, something you won’t be 100 percent familiar with. Something that would be referred to as “exciting”, “innovative” or “cutting edge”. There’s plenty of companies that will use such hyperbole when advertising themselves to new potential employees, but it’s not always true. However, in this instance, all those adjectives are quite genuine. This is a company who have developed the world’s first self-organising mesh technology to deliver Gigabit Fixed Wireless Access services. It’s presently being deployed around the world to provide 5G virtual fibre connectivity for mobile operators and broadband service providers. They’ve got strong financial backing and operate a genuine flexible working environment.

You will take responsibility for investigating engineering faults reported by both the internal engineers and subcontractors, working with PCB’s regularly used in their own Microwave communication product line. You’ll also work with the team to testing their systems, building and modifying early prototypes, using your knowledge of electronic components, circuit design and fault finding.

In return you’ll be play a key role in a maturing Cambridge start up, improving the successful existing product line, working to improve your knowledge of electronics, circuit design and software to continue defining the product roadmap. You’ll also be a part of a genuine flexible working environment, and work with a new emerging technology, at a critical point of the company’s growth. You’ll also receive a salary of up to £35,000, a generous company bonus, with other benefits to boot.

Always the fun part, make sure to have a read of the below to ensure you’re meeting the tech criteria:

Knowledge of electronic components, circuit design and fault finding.

Understanding of computers, software tools and development.

Ability to re-work fine SMT parts and assemble electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies.

And it would be useful if you knew something about:

Radio system operation

Ethernet and IP configuration

Knowledge of Linux or similar OS
