Project Manager – Software & Technical Delivery
📍 Great Chesterford, Essex | Hybrid (minimum 3 days onsite)
💰 £70,000 to £80,000 depending on experience
✈️ UK and international travel as required
This is a highly customer-facing role where you will lead complex, software-led technical projects across multiple sectors. You’ll work closely with sales, engineering and client teams to shape, secure and deliver technically robust, commercially sound solutions.
You’ll report directly to the Head of Project Management.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of planning and delivering software development projects, often working alongside electronics and embedded systems teams.
This role combines structured governance with hands-on leadership. You’ll manage timelines, budgets, resources, risks and change control while maintaining strong client relationships.
Travel to UK and international clients will be required where necessary to support delivery or pre-sales discussions.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex software-led projects
- Scope opportunities alongside sales and technical leads
- Produce realistic cost and time estimates
- Manage schedules, resources, risks and change
- Apply Agile methodologies, WBS planning and structured project tracking
- Ensure clear reporting and governance throughout the project lifecycle
- Motivate and lead high-performing project teams
- Drive continuous improvement in software delivery processes
Must Haves
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance
- Proven experience managing complex software development projects
- Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices including version control, CI/CD and testing frameworks
- Technically fluent and comfortable engaging engineers and senior stakeholders
- Experience operating in a consultancy-style, client-facing environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capability
- Technical degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience using Agile, Jira, Confluence, Git and Microsoft Project
